2011 Quality Veterinarian of the Year
Steenholdt receives 2011 Veterinarian of the Year Award
Keith Carlson (left) of the Dairy Quality Center presented Dr. Christian Steenholdt (center) with a plaque honoring Dr. Steenholdt as the 2011 DQC Veterinarian of the Year. The award was presented at the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) annual meeting held September 21-23, in St. Louis, Missouri. Also present was Dr. Tom Van Dyke, (right) Manager of Merial Veterinary Services Team, co-sponsor of the annual award.
Dr. Christian Steenholdt grew up in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Dr. Steenholdt graduated from the Veterinary School at University of Queensland in Australia in 1996 and became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 2002. Dr. Steenholdt completed his Food Animal Residency at the University of Florida in 2003; and Diplomat of the American College of Theriogenologists in 2004.
Dr. Steenholdt participates in the Verified Premium Plus Program where he conducts dairy audits for his clients to verify production practices including milk safety and quality, approved vaccination schedules, residue avoidance, and more. His dedication to his dairy clients assures the production of wholesome and safe food for consumers.
Dr. Steenholdt is a partner at the Progressive Dairy Health Services in Clovis, New Mexico, where their focus is on production medicine and improving client dairies.
