Daniels receives 2014 Veterinarian of the Year Award

Colette Johnston (left) of the Dairy Quality Center and Dr. Tom Van Dyke, (right) Manager of Merial Veterinary Services Team, presented Dr. Angela Daniels (center) with a plaque honoring Dr. Daniels as the 2014 DQC Quality Veterinarian of the Year. The award was presented at the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) annual meeting held September 17-19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Angela M. Daniels was born in Southeast Iowa and was raised on a diversified farm where her family raised beef cattle, hogs, corn and soybeans. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy and Animal Science in 1995 and the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.

In January of 2004, she and Dr. C. Scanlon Daniels founded Circle H Animal Health LLC where she continues her work in the dairy field. Her interests are in the areas of milk quality, replacement heifer production, food safety, and livestock research.

The Dairy Quality Center relies on veterinarians exclusively to audit animal welfare and other sustainable practices. We would like to applaud all of you working with milk and dairy beef producers to ensure safe and sustainable food production practices.

Congratulations Dr. Daniels! You are an excellent example of how a veterinary/client relationship benefits Texas dairies!
